I had to look it up:
The term was first used in 1858 in cricket to describe HH Stephenson‘s feat of taking three wickets in three balls. A collection was held for Stephenson, and he was presented with a hat bought with the proceeds.
No hat here but we did win the Internet Telephony award for the best VoIP Business Provider again last night. That’ll be the third time in three years.
